After all this new captcha on every message stuff... are there any bots that work or is it over for them all?

Wondering the same thing myself. What are the new sites that have them for free?

Depends what you are using them for, but 90% of the bots don't work.

Id take a bot that rotates through accounts and accept friend requests.

I miss the good ole days lol.

Yeah those indeed were the good old days.

But I'm finding getting free traffic from search engines much more lucrative.

if you want a working bot you have to go custom and make it yourself or have someone else make it.

What he said, and don't expect it to be free .. in fact expect it to be far from free.

Or know what underground forums to go to.

Or know what underground forums to go to.
They are struggling as well, one bot that reads captcha is for sale with a steep price tag but it only works about 1 in 15.

I tried Eek Adder before, and it's terrible! I like FriendBlaster Pro the best and cheapest! Eek adder want money PER Myspace account.....FriendBlaster Pro charges $70 for unlimited Myspace accounts.....

I havnt tried using a bit in awhile. The problem is a lot of them become defunct and stop updating.

I also use FriendBlaster. Captcha bypass doesn't work, but all I really use it for is to send a message after accepting friend requests so I don't mind entering the captchas every few minutes.

And people wonder why Myspace is/was filtering resource sites ... it seems many of the resource sites are/were spamming their users using bots, especially the rogue resource site owners that are complaining that their site is filtered now or whatever.

I'm just amazed at how you guys talk freely about using these bots that Myspace is investing millions into to prevent and/or slow down the spam.

And then people get their panties all twisted and get clueless when their figuring out why their's a current hysteria that Myspace hates resource site owners.

If you spammed by business or used bots when I tell you not to I'd hate you to. It doesn't help matters when it's freely discussed on the biggest myspace resource site owner forum either.

Ahh the one-sided horse blinders argument.. gotta love em.

Removing the blinders and looking round allows you to see things.... Like the fact that not everyone who uses bots uses them in the same way as the spammers you're trying to lump us all in with.

Most resource site owners with any brains use them to reply to friend requests and send thank you comments or to let our friend list know about new additions to the site. If you own a resource site with a matching myspace profile (which you should) the myspace profile becomes your business face on myspace just like all the other legit business, band, and promotion profiles on there. People that add you as a friend or accept your friend request KNOW that you are the myspace presence of a resource site. So newsflash... they actually LIKE to get thanks for the add replies and an occasional message letting them know we have a bunch of new stuff on the site so they can be the first to use it.

So basically alluding to all bot users being cast from the same mold as viagra spamming fools is a little absurd.

* begin of "newsflash"*

George, using a system or program to send multiple messages automatically on a website/server which is not yours is considered spam, especially because "most people/spammers" send ads about their website.

*end of "newsflash"*

Ok, not going to get into a semantics argument with you over what is and isn't spam.

I mean don't be absurd, you're just sticking by the letter of the definition of spam because it suits your purpose...... By those ridiculous standards anyone who goes 1 mile over the speed limit is a criminal... because they broke the law. Do you walk around calling everyone you know criminals? And by that same notion do you try to lump them in with the group as if they are the same as every other criminal? Murderers? Rapists?

If you folks want to call automating a task, that done by hand is just too time consuming, "spam" trying to make it seem like it's just as bad as all the diet pill and viagra spammers out there, please feel free to go ahead and make a mockery of yourself.

i agree george. i would send out "thanks for the add" manually any ways. however, i now use friendblaster and it saves so much time. i don't send out random comments, i don't overflow bulletins. i use it to auto reply to those who have already contacted me.

its very effective and i usually get replies back like "thank you" "no problem". if i didn't have the program, i would be doing it by hand. and i would do it the same with a personal account or a large account.

George

Yeah I get replies as well, especially when you send them a really cool graphic.

Ajay

i get messages from people asking me why i don't leave cool comments on their site anymore, and if they did something wrong... :S

RKGraphics
September 6th, 2007, 09:48 AM
yeah, i can see where the technical term is spam, but i think the majority of resource site owners don't abuse it the way that is discussed. i mainly get "spam" from stupid contest sites, ads, musicians....etc.

i just started using the program and i LOVE it. especially now i have more people visiting my page and actually looking around and lookiing at my pics. its a way to get to know people because i don't like to randomly pick someone off my 43k account and be like "hey"....but if they ask me questions, i will answer back. :)

I agree with George and Tina I also have friendblaster pro but i only use it to auto comment new add requests from people wanting to add me and comment people that have left me a comment or message that day.

I agree with George. If you compare our "spam" to the spam that actually ruined it for us, then we're not really spamming. Technically we are spamming but I personally wouldn't send daily bulletins, just one every now and then. Then I'd reply to friend requests and what not. I don't see how that's spam.

The spammers and phishers didn't only ruin it for webmasters, but also for normal users. Now they have to enter a catchpa every god damn second.

Either way, I couldn't care less. Anyone know of any working bots?:2guns:

friend blaster pro works great. it has a trial, and it only asks for the captcha a few times out of every 20

yup i have the paid version it makes things sooo much easier when you have 3 pages of adds to accept even after weeding out the bands and obvious "fake" profiles.

The spammers and phishers didn't only ruin it for webmasters, but also for normal users.
The people who really ruined it in my opinion were the ones who made auto-account creating software. That's when everything got out of control.

The way I view it is that there are 3 levels. The people who just approve friends and auto-comment in moderation. The people who push affiliate products aggressively, and then the people who phish people's accounts, which is in a totally different category because that actually is a crime.

All of those levels are against the tos, so if myspace was in a nasty mood one day and felt like suing you for auto-accepting a friend request, they could.

RKGraphics
September 6th, 2007, 06:10 PM
ok, so question. how do they tell that it was auto accepted vs manually accepted, and auto commented vs manually commented??

Benahue
September 6th, 2007, 06:37 PM
Well, for the bots that use a browser it may be harder for myspace to tell, but I think even if you take every necc. precaution, at this point, myspace has a way of figuring it out.
