Luckely the hacker did not take away my admin rights so I can just login and fix the stuff. I am just wondering how he was able to edit my template files as you cant do that in the admin secton.

We kept having a site hacked that was hosted on go daddy. Some turkish hackers were hacking in like once a week. FInally got it taken care of and havent had a problem since.

His name isn't on the list , nor is your site. Most defaces are logged on zone-h and they will tell you how they did rather is be a sql injection or something simple.
But everyone should sign up there so if you run a lot of sites you will at least get a email if your site ever shows up on the list.

you may even want to try emailing the guy since he did put his email on there. Ask him how he did it and what you can do to better protect your site. Since he just defaced it and didn't delete anything he may tell you.

Because there is very little laws there, or they cant get touched by people from another country.

A few years back valve software was hacked by a guy I believe he was from turkey, cant remember. He hacked into there internal network via outlook with gabe newells email. He stole the source code to hl2.

Now he gave put it on the net, they eventually found out how he got in, mainly because he said how. Gabe got in contact with him, and pretended to give him a job to help secure thier network. What he really wanted was to get this guy on US soil so the feds could arrest him.

Now as the guy was at the air port about to get on a plane for his "new security job" his countries police arrested him, just so the americans couldnt.


Basically they couldnt touch him because of his countries laws, and his country didnt give a **** that he was a hacker, they jsut didnt want him being arrested by americans. So that may be why there is so many hackers from turkey.

Interesting Story.. It makes me wonder why the US just does not block Turkey from accessing our US IP's all together.
