Anyone else having problems with their topbanner divs? They just dont sit at the top, it stays in the About Me section.
Heres the funny thing, Ive copied over code from "working" myspace accounts to the new one and it doesnt work. Ive deleted the account and made a new one and it doesnt work.
Did MySpace change something on new accounts?
myspace.com/streethopcom is the page in question.

I'm a little confused on what banner your talking about. Could you show an example? :)

Do you mean, the link back buttons? I see some of my users does that too, they're complaining but mines working every time I update my profile. So weird. =/

No, not link back, the topbanner div tag used to add images to the top of myspace, such as on myspace.com/rukas, that same exact code does not want to work on myspace.com/streethopcom - a new profile.
Sorry this board wont let me make links so you'll need to copy paste.

I can't help but I think he wants to make a "whateverlife style layout"; they have a banner on top of the ads (but not covering them) see? (http://www.whateverlife.com/whateverlifestylelayouts.php)

They are to do with the position:absolute and position:relative tags. Which I think have been canned for the time being.

It was temporary. They were restored yesterday. Try it now.

It isn't working when I view the profile. Looks like the <div> tag is being confined to the 'About me' section of a profile. How sucky is that? Bah!

If anyone is confused about the layout the OP was trying to make happen, the order goes along the lines,
User's Banner
Myspace Ad Banner
MySpace Navigation
User profile
Using a <div> overlay, it was possible to create almost any type of cool profile - now it looks as if Myspace is taking steps to prevent their implementation.
This may be a temporary move while they tidy up the way code gets parsed or it may be a permanent move as Myspace try to assert ever more control.

Yeah, just restored from my backup profile, and it's not working for me, either.
But I'm relieved to know it's not just that I'm a crap web editor!

I've been searching through myspace and it looks like they ability to <div> overlay above the advertising banners has been removed - looks like there will be a lot of unhappy people who's layouts don't work any longer.

I'm wondering if they're either getting ready to charge for it, or are restricting that capability to advertisers? B/c notice - it still works on profiles like this (http://myspace.com/parishilton)...

That's what happened to me - mine was fine until I edited something else in that same section. :( All I did was change a link further on down and BAM. The banner moved. I haven't bothered trying to fix it b/c client wants a new layout soonish anyway...
Of course if anyone manages to solve this problem I do hope you'll share how you did it!!

Sorry, but if I figure this out I'm keeping it to myself :shifty:
Actually, all you need do, assuming this isn't a paid model being used by Myspace for the big labels like Warner Bros and the other big music names is to examine the code of any layout where this still works. You should find the answer there.

All the old ones still work until you update the About Me section and resave it... Im assuming the "big" ones just havent updated, like I wont on my others.
