So I login to adsense and see huge X,XXX% CTR's on a few of my sites....

Thinking someone is bombing me I get in touch with google, I start the drop adsense procedure for my sites (Yes I have a DRP plan for getting click bombed) and then decided to check DP.... Thank god I did...

Short story: it appears to be a problem at the big G.

So don't crap yourself if you see it too!

lol, I just came on to see if anyone else had it. Mine is not that high but still like 400% lol.

Hopefully it doesn't mean they are working one some change that will screw us (always seems to go that way when they make a change lol)

You may have to share your emergency c-bomb plan some day ;).

The plan is basically:

1. Notify Google with the situation, mention removing the ads until sorted.
2. Hit the panic button (Drops all of my sites with a bbk in a minute message)
3. cvs checkout the non adsense versions of my sites. (this over writes the each site template with a copy that doesn't contain adsense, some are easy to change, others are harder)
4. Remove panic button restoring sites to a functional state.

All the panic button does is replace the apache config file with a different one that points all sites to a single page with a bbk in a min message. This is easy to clean up from.

The panic button has other uses too, if your hacked etc...

You smart people! lol. Sounds like a great idea but still a bit beyond my skills lol. Yeah, that must sound pretty pathetic and I agree.

I really like the idea of having multiple versions of sites though (with/without adsense). Only thing is I am bad enough about keeping my one copy version controlled. I usually find out I have the most updated files live while forgetting to have my local copy caught up lol.

There's a thread here somewhere asking about how people work, I've been meaning to reply to it, just never got around to it.

They are starting to even out, 1 hour ago i had 1200%, not it's down to 7%. It's not recording all the impressions correctly but looks like it's starting to update now.

I know I work bad and am very unorganized and need to figure out a better dev process. Not only to save time and stay organized but to make sure I don't screw things up and overwrite the wrong things lol.
