have you guys heard about this? I guess the courts have blocked vonage from signing up any new customers. verizon is trying to take them and there 2.2 million customers down.

ouch, i wanted to try vontage, they have massive ad campaigns in toronto. I almost bought into the usb phone thing. They are good as dead I guess, if there is no workaround.

No like the article said Verizon has a patent on the method Vonage used to connect their users to the main phoneline board so the way Vonage set up their phones was ingringment on that patent.

I use sunrocket and love it, 199 a year! Just make sure your get a good router thats made for VOiP

I've used skype since It came out. Never had a problem with it. I forget what I pay I have it set up as a paypal subscription. Its fairly cheap in anycase. Call quality is like a regular phone, as long as your mic isnt a pos. Plus they dont have that annoying commercial that makes you want to punch babies :s

This is old news. They lost and haid to pay up. This isn't the "death" of vonage or VOIP though. I use Via Talk with two Cisco 7971-GE IP phones running off Trixbox and I love it!
