lol I swear these group buys, I think there should be somekind rule to were the content needs to be completely finished and ready to be delivered before a group buy is started.

Yes along with other sites
I personally don't know where he headed. But he did take off with money even for me. I just know if he took off with the purpose of keaping the money it was a dumb decision as with 3 myspace resource site that are MSRS the long term benefit of sticking around here is much more profitable.
I do know he was also a mod and no longer is obviously. I had noticed activity on his account and his sites are all still up but no longer updated. So I have no idea I've always been to shy to ask this question myself but I feel Greg or someone might no. It's kind of hush hush around here.
EDIT: He wasn't the one designing the content so saying content should be ready beforehand is not relevent to this thread.

I have also heard of alot of people not delivering all of the layouts and/or glitters after everyone has paid.

Drew was the first one to botch a group buy, this is true.
Drew originally went by the alias MrGeek. Honestly he was a great guy, a moderator and one of the first users, and nobody really knows what happened to him. Right before he made good on the money he owed everyone he alluded to the fact that we was no longer welcome here - so I think that's the reason you don't see him here anymore.
Perhaps this thread will bring him back, who knows.
NOTE* spacegeese.com is not Drew's site.

whooooa. thats not good AT all.. i think i would only buy from someone, and people should only be allowed to sell, if they have so many positive itraders.. like a rule or something :)

nah I just think it would be better off if they were required to have the content up front and ready to be delivered instead of this deliverying 20 layouts here and there and still having like 100 left to deliver after a month has passed.

LIKE I SAID!
Drew was not the designer of any of the content. He was just the collector of funds. So talking about Content before Payment is irrelivent here.

Not really. If the content was done, you pay the $100 and get the pack, not 20 people send $100 each then wait for 2 months

He did sent everyone their money back a couple months ago. At least I received a payment from him for the full amount. He was a good guy and would love to have him back.

No you really don't get it! He as a moderator was collecting the money and then sent it to me before I joined the forums and I would code hardcode a gen and send it out so that it couldn't be stolen. He left without delivering a second payment and I STILL delivered all the gens even though I was never paid. So yes REALLY

That whole group buy was confusion. He wasn't a bad guy and everyone from that group buy got their money back. It was the first one we'd ever held here and since a group buy was never really my original idea he stepped up and agreed to take care of handling funds and making sure everyone paid. It sounded great and then the whole thing just kinda exploded. When everyone got their money back, I agreed to finish the group buy, but kind of lost interest, yet I've already taken payment and so of course, I'm finishing what I started. I don't know what happened to him, but I never held anything against him for dissapearing, I mean of course it was mysterious, but everyone did in fact get their money back and are getting the stuff they paid me for, even if it is taking me way too long to do. [and that i apologize for and will drop that subject in this thread for now]
Group buys are horrible, and I hate them. I'll never do another one again because quite frankly, they are more trouble than they are worth. I do miss Drew, he was a good guy.

and everyone from that group buy got their money back
Yeah, after several weeks and only when people started to get mad and asking what the heck was going on with that money.
And not even a "sorry" from him
Nope, he won't be missed

Drew helped a hell of a lot of people all the way up until he disappeared mysteriously. He was always giving and doing more for other people than anyone did for him. Strange how people only remember the one negative when I was slow to follow up on the group buy thing. In fact, he was doing everyone a favor by collecting for that first group buy but something came up in his life that made it not possible to be here or maybe online at all. We don't know what it was but it was never malicious.
His site doesn't look like it has been updated since around that time either so it's not like he was just hiding from us or something. And as far as I know, everyone got their money back from him and Selena still worked it out for those involved.
I personally miss Drew and liked him a lot. I hope he is ok and nothing bad happened :(.

I wondered this the other day so it's funny to see a topic about it now! I thought he was a good guy and helpful like Scilynt said. I certainly did not think he was unwelcome here, not at all. Do people seriously think he intended to run off with the group buy money? I was sure someone mention ages back he had personal issues.

I agree that Drew was very helpful in coming up with some of the first code changes for MSRS and a nice guy too. I'd like to see him back.

Couldn't have put it better myself - the guy always had time for helping people out. Some issues erupted in his personal life that he had no control over and things f***** up with the group buy because of it - he paid everything as soon as he could.
The problem with 'issues' is that they tend to happen without warning and turn your life inside out and upside down.
I miss him here, too. He was a good guy and I had a lot of time for him. I don't know what happened in his life but I do hope he is doing well.

Everyone here is a webmaster and we know how our life goes on, unless you get hit by a bus and can't move a finger you don't just vanish from the scene like that.

I don't like to say anything until I know exactly what happened to him.
As mcfox said "The problem with 'issues' is that they tend to happen without warning and turn your life inside out and upside down."
I know from personal experience that is totally true.
