Google launched a beta (isn't everything beta with them?) of Adwords Pay Per Action. I wonder how good this is going to be for publishers. I bet as time goes on it will be worse for publishers and advertisers will be trying to squeeze everything out of the publishers.

*Shrug* ehh, bastards.

Then again WE can be both publishers AND advertisers ;p Get our sites more well known and use OTHER advertising companies ya know?

I'm just confused =/
It sounds like a good idea for everyone, as long as it works alongside the normal ad system, so publishers decide where to put it, and to use the PPA system you have to have a normal one too.
Then, that would be good for everyone, we get paid for displaying ads and get paid EXTRA for displaying PPA ads too.
So, everyone wins.
And, I bet the PPA pay-outs have to be higher, could be like 10 bucks per completed action if it's things like buying a product.
Sounds like an Affiliate System that already exists to me! :P

I guess you are right. It could be a win win for everyone.

haven't read it yet but wonder if it will be within the adsense ad blocks or a whole new available ad unity for publishers to choose from.

I better damn well get better eCPM if I actually get conversions with it though lol. Hard for google to "smartprice" you if you can show conversions.

Is there an open beta signup for publishers yet?

Nope, for now they're collecting up the potentiol advertisers, so they can launch it on the publishers instantly and take us all by surprise :P

i am waiting for google's CPM program to be available to publishers. As long as they offer competative rates it would be nice to have my CPC and CPM programs all in one spot

Here's some more info on it from the official adwords blog: http://adwords.blogspot.com/

Scilynt, its not like that you display something and for each link you get x.xxx amount!

Its more like an affiliate system! If you want to sell hmm lets say coffe cups with naked pitcures of your self, and there is a publisher out there, with a reallllly NINCH site only articles, pages, forums about "naked coffe cups" then offcourse he will try to promote your "CUP" witch means for every one that buys your cup, maybe buying it for 39.99USD or 99.9USD

The publisher (site owner) gets maybe a % out of it or a exact number per CUP!
(30USD) While maybe google takes (10usd) the "Naked coffe cup" owner gets 60USD per cup if it is for sale on usd!

There are alot of these sites allready out there and well established companies, with a lot of advertisers, but i think that Google are smart, like they did with the search enginge, and publishers ads, i think that they will allso make a difference here in this area! ;)

I think its just great, for site OWNERS, more ads you can put up, and not just that but if you find your right product its what counts and gives you some extra cash in your pocket! ;)

Right, well, I was thinking it could be exploited. If you draw a person to a page with a pay per action that relates to someone buying a certain product, and they don't buy the product, but you still have lots of CPC and CPM ads on the site, then in a way, haven't you just gotten free traffic? Someone could go to your site, not buy the product connected to your pay per action, but still click on a CPC ad on the site, and you didn't pay a dime for the traffic. Does this sound right, or will google find a way to make sure this doesn't happen?

Looks like Google's PPA is starting to build up some steam.

I'm seeing quite a few myspace-demographic products starting to show up on google's ppa now.

Anyone who is running adsense can test out google's ppa, some of my friends have been owning ppa over cpc - hitting higher ecpms. You can find all the products by logging into adsense, clicking setup, and goto referrals.

Anyone else testing this **** out?

I think adsense will work better for myspace wbemasters than a CPA based alternative

I had it working ok for me with the Webfetti offers but I took it off because I am not sure if this will get my site tagged on Google's Badware initiative.

You're fooling yourself if you think "adsense" will work better for myspace webmasters.

Who do you think advertises through adsense... GUYS THAT PUSH CPA OFFERS. They are taking profits from you.
