Preventing certain news feeds?

Hello..
Is there any way to prevent a news feed from being generated each time I comment on a friend's status?

Does removing the entry by clicking on the remove button in the Recent activity on my profile prevent the news feed for that particular comment??

nope, you need to send them a message if you don't want everyone seeing it.

clicking remove deletes the post.

If you don't want everyone to see your comment on your friends status, you should just send a message to the friend. Comments are public, messages are private.
