I've been thinking of adding Auction Ads to a site with Adsense running on it. I know the FAQ on the Auction Ads site says that it allows both but has anyone had a different opinion of this? Experiences?

I've been using it for a week and haven't made on cent yet. I'll be taking it off tomorrow actually if nothing changes but it doesn't look like it's good for myspace sites.

Thanks for the feedback. I think you just saved me a ton of time.

I tried them for a few days as well without a single sale. Got a few links with thousands of impressions but not very happy with the results and have already pulled it.
They might do better with more targeted ads down to the page level though...like "No Doubt band stuff" on ebay on No Doubt layout section. Hard to say though.

I know people using it with adsense. So I think you are safe. Probably pointless to put it on a myspace site though, the clicks won't convert. I bet it would work pretty decent on techy site, like a hardware review blog. well, duh.

I think you are right on that one. I'm going to try it on my gadgets site and see if it has any success.

I already tried it on my mens gadgets site (http://www.menstech.com) and sent quite a few clicks, thousands of impressions and not a single commission.

Just put it up and made a few bucks yesterday. It was only up for a few hours so I'll keep watching it to see.
The tag cloud is AWESOME in terms of CTR on tech sites if blended properly.

All this boils down to: Auction Ads will not convert on Teen Sites. Reason? Do I need to state it, or do we all know that only about 15% - 25% of teens shop on Ebay.

Either you missed the point or you just posted without reading the entire thread....
We've already talked about how it's not converting on gadget sites either. My site is aimed at Men, 18 to 35, the absolute best demographic for the products you see on auction ads and still no conversions.

AuctionAd clicks don't convert right away.
Commisions are paid after an auction ends.

I've had them running on my site for 4 days now. Over 1000 clicks, $0 revenue (so far). We will know better in a week if it converting but with people selling things like myspace account design for $24 who knows :).

Hmmm, something strange going on. I was actually showing some revenue earlier tonight form the past days I had it on. Not much at all, but at least something. All gone again and showing $0.00 now lol.

You've all been spoiled by the instant return that Adsense/YPN brings.
eBay commissions work based on the end of the auction amount - so for a lot of clicks it's going to be at least a week before you see any return. And don't forget that the cookies last a month, so lots of clicks means that you'll eventually see some return.
I would say that unless you have tried this for a month, you'll never know how well it works or not.
Though Elvis has a good point about teens - I can't see it working on MySpace sites myself.

if anyone wants to email me I will look into there site.
We actually have some high traffic myspace sites that are doing really well but they have been in the program a while.
I would actually say that auctionads would not be the best revenue for myspace sites if you were to put it in a featured position compared to ypn/adsense but it could be some nice additional profit (that was not there) before just placing it on your site. The ads definatly draw attention and with you guys doing high traffic you never know what that 1 click could lead to... maybe a guy just registers for ebay and you get (14-25$ (depending on country) maybe he buys a stamp collection and you get a 400$ commission (that does happen lol)

AuctionAds will work if you tweak the variables. What are the variables? Know your visitors, what are they searching for when they find your site, and what keywords are you using on your Auctionads to bring up the ebay items?
I just signed up today, but I have high hopes. My CTR is way higher than what's been listed here and I had with the eBay affiliate program through CJ. The key, my ads are tweaked for the search terms that bring in the visitors.
