View Full Version : MSP wants more of my money?! WTF?

I understand that there is a marketplace to advertise services and such, and I have no problem with paying to post in those sections, but there is a serious issue when moderators can review posts in two days or less, but my open support issue of over 2 months has yet to be resolved and has been ignored for those two months.

I spent more money on the MSAS program with the understanding that I would have support if there were any issues with the installation and such. Unfortunately I have had nothing but problems since day one and others have shared the same unfortunate scenario.

Now, they want more money from me to post in the services sections. I am sorry, but I am having a hard time supporting this site when your bigger paying customers issues are not being resolved and are continuously being ignored.

I have considered selling my MSAS but I know it is just going to be a huge pain just to get everything switched over and now I will still have to pay MSP $1 just to sell it. How the hell does that happen?

Dude...join the list of people that hate MSAS. Haven't you seen all the marketplace threads of people just trying to get rid of this script. There are so many topics here that complain about it too.

Well you bring up different issues and I understand your frustrations.

In case you haven't seen his post, Greg basically said he sold MSAS and MSP. He will no longer be providing updates or support. He said that is up to the new "caregivers" of MSP, but no one has any clue who that is. Mods here had ZERO to do with MSAS.

As far as the marketplace fee, that was an issue brought up by members here wanting the fee back. That was not a Mod/Admin decision. There are many reasons for the fee and you can read that thread for its rationale. As far as the fee for WTH threads, it was determined that if struggling designers have to pay a buck to sell their content ppl with more money can afford to post a WTH service thread.

Topher, I can understand your frustration, but you are confusing two issues.

The main forum is completely seperate from any script sales/support issues. The Mods that maintain peace and harmony on the main forum may not have the skill or knowledge to assist in problems with any script that may be sold here.

I can only speak for myself here, and not the other Mods, but I tend to stay out of the script owner forums because I have little to no working knowledge of the scripts that are available for purchase.

Wow! Totally missed that thread. I supposed everyone who still has that script won't be getting refunds or anything. :/ (half sarcasm, half serious). I've been in the position as an IT chick where I had to jump right in and provide support for a large script I didn't write, let alone know the language of (Perl). I was paid to learn it and eventually I succeeded, but not without going through hell first. Granted I volunteered for that position, but it's not right to dump that mess into random mods' laps.

Sorry guys.

Yeah I understand how annoying it is to buy something then not receive any The adequate customer help if you paid for it in the beginning.

Who even owns MSP these days?

Greg was once a great member back in the day but I have lost faith in him, from all the different things such as myeeos I admit I was conned in and lost a few hundred yet others lost thousands to the various scripts which go bad I wouldn't really trust the guy any more.

But I guess its all part of business you win some and loose others,

yeah I'd like to know who owns it as well because the damn script that was working on one of my sites all of a sudden won't work right and I've not made any changes... I think I'm going to talk to a lawyer because Greg hasn't stood behind what he said he was going to do....
