I was wondering if any of you out there have tried out itunes affiliate on your myspace sites? The payout is low but apple/ipods/and itunes are hot right now.
If not whats some other good affiliate programs that have worked for you on these sort of sites?
I have a hi5 site but pretty much the same thing. Avg age of users is 17 - 24 and primarily males.

We tried to get into their program for a piece of software we were developing, but no site, no traffic = no acceptance.

Interesting that you were denied. My sites getting 700 uniques a day and growing.

It's not like I applied with myspacepros or a site that had decent traffic. It was a new domain with no history, and it was a site that wasn't built as well - so it's not that strange we were denied.

Sorry, I misunderstood :)
The 5% commission seems really low and a song is only like $1.99 so I am wondering how profitable it would be?

A side benefit to affiliate programs like these is that if you add some of their links with item descriptions to your pages, it will prompt google to serve higher-paying adsense listings.
If you can't get accepted by iTunes, there are plenty of similar vendors on CJ and other tracking networks.

Keep in mind that iTunes has like nill API. If targeted dynamic, targeted results are what you're after, you're SOL.

The i-tune affiliate program doesn't sound good on the surface, but it can't be any worse than the money you make when someone buys a $1.00 book on Amazon. How long does Apple hold onto your money before they pay you?
