Creativeaftermath.com is proud to announce the release of the first VIRAL Twitter Background/Layout script made available to the public!
Through our script, you can tap into the Twitter craze in a big way and take your traffic to another level.
How is this possible?
Well, each time a tweeter decides to use one of your backgrounds it generates an "auto"-tweet on their twitter account. So everyone that follows this tweeter will see the tweet and the link to your fabulous site.
And it even gets better. In addition to the autotweet, the script establishes an "auto"-follow. So whenever you post tweet updates, your new tweeter fan will know about it.
Are you ready to build your Twitter Empire?
If so, please make your way here (http://creativeaftermath.com/forum/showthread.php?t=853) for a demo and a full list of features.

Looks very promising Eddie. I have a few twitter domains collecting dust since 2007 lol. Looks like we could work that into an existing site or build a new one on top of it. With the way that twitter works, the backgrounds have to be downloadable. Have you heard any concerns from background designers? It is a little different with the user actually downloading the graphic as opposed to just a link to it. Just wondering if designers would have an issue with that before I started anything.

With the aged domains you will certainly have a leg up on SEO. :)
Yes, at the moment, Twitter only allows for uploaded backgrounds (versus linking to a url). They currently use S3 (Amazon) to host their background as well as other images, such as the profile image.
Now with that said, there are two ways to upload a background. Either manually or through an autopost. The autopost mechanism uses their API which allows for posting the background image as well as the subsequent "tweet" and "follow". There's no way to place a backlink on the actual profile page but the autotweet and autofollow could just be as effective. So, in this way, you still do have some sort of "credit" and exposure for providing the background.
I think it's to early to tell whether there will be an outcry of designers that disapprove of this as I believe that the twitter "layout/background" scene is relatively small at this time. If people want to post their thoughts on this, they are certainly welcome.
Oh, I just wanted to add that there are a handful of "designers" that have eagerly anticipated a script like this and have not expressed these type of concerns.

well most ppl don't tag tiled backgrounds anymore. So that was why I was asking. Having them untagged and downloadable is what I want to hear designers opinion on.

really? i tag them with a small pixel font like :

but me if they are custom made for you then i don't care but if its from a pack being sold then yeah i wouldn't like that

I tag all my backgrounds. If it's too small to tag, I tile it in Photoshop and make it bigger and make the tag more opaque. I don't know why people stopped tagging their backgrounds in the first place.
I've had twitter sites for awhile and this script is going to cut a LOT of work out and be AWESOME! I'm so excited for this! Even though there will be no link back, the autotweet feature is more than viral and will do great. :)

I've been asked whether the script is part of ELCMS/CACMS. The script can run as a standalone script or it can coexist with your existing twitter script or resource script...or pretty much any script out there.

I've been working on mine for most of the day, still don't quite have it finished, but if you'd like to take a look, then please feel free to..
I am trying to get it to look as much like my main site as I possibly can, be gentle, I still have work to do on it.
