lmaooo nice. I used to babysit a couple kids with some really nice amps. Their dad told them to practice 30 minutes a day while I was there.
ahhhahaha. Wow. That was fun....NOT.

If they know how to play then it shouldn't be annoying. You should have also bought him a nice pair of headphones, not the cheap kind that they sell at wal mart but some from musiciansfriend.com

150 watts is insane.
30 watts is enough to elicit a police visit without their even needing to even be called lol.

Oh, he can play all right - you name it, he can play it. I'm still trying to negotiate with him about the Gibson I promised I'd buy him if he learned Lynrd Skynrd's (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lynyrd_Skynyrd) "Freebird (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Free_Bird)" note-perfect (kind of the holy-grail of guitar playing). It only took him three weeks from first hearing it and it's dueling guitars!

Yeah what the heck were you thinkin' MCFOX? 150 Watts?!?!?!?
You should have bought your son a 3000 watt amplifier. :) I have a 1000 watt car stereo amplifier in my ride and i'm still not happy with the power. :)

Guitar amps can be very loud with seemingly small wattage in comparison to stereos. Takes a lot more energy to move speakers to move air for those bass notes etc.

I've just stopped 'jarring' from yesterday's full run-through of a Guns n Roses 'concert' - at least he drowned out that whiney singer. :sweatdrop:
I had no idea internal organs could vibrate!

"You shouldn't have bought me it if you didn't want me to play loud!"
I repeat my earlier comment: omfg! What was I thinking?

Do you actually have any musical talent that would merit the outlay? No point buying you stuff you will only use for a short time.
It certainly isn't going to waste. He has gradually 'earned' his equipment by working hard at improving his playing and meeting challenges I've set. He started with an old electric guitar and temperamental amplifier someone gave him when they were clearing out junk.
