hey, I guess this is the right area to post this... but, after the last toolbar update, my
site shows a "forged" pagerank on checkpagerank.net. I've been trying to google what the heck this is, but was unsuccessful. Anyone care to enlighten me? Kinda sucks, because two weeks later a lot of my high ranked niche keywords dropped from rank 1-10 to 60+ Wondering if there is a correlation. I know pagerank is updates regularly now... but, trying to figure out why i dropped so badly in rankings.

The ranks dropped on the day I introduced a site searchengine for the site.. so wondering something fudged there instead..

blackhat seo techniques like keyword spamming and link farms can do that to you

Sounds like you are probably inadvertantly using a 302 redirect and it is incurring a penalty.

Basically, it's a method of 'stealing' the PR from another site but if you are using 302's on your site instead of 301's, you may well be getting penalised for it.
