View Full Version : Adult Friend Finder - AFF

Adult Friend Finder on Myspace Resource Sites -
Pros - Hardcore BANK - If you wanna know all the secrets and how to set it up PM me.
-You figure there are a lot of men and women who use myspace that are single - I don't know what the stats are but I am betting that there are more single users on myspace than taken / married you get the point.
- AGAIN THIS IS A MAJOR CASH COW
Cons - You CAN mix them with adsense however you have to use the PG ads which was less user persuasive.
- You must be 18+ to use this. So please DO NOT PM me if you aren't.
The recent poll for users on this site showed me that most of you are over 18 so it shouldn't be a problem asking for help. I will show you the light!

Why must I sign up with your affiliate URL to get this "secret info"? I have been with AFF for over 2 years. Are you still willing to reveal your secrets or is this just scheme to get more people in your downline?
misterproline
February 5th, 2007, 09:39 PM
No scheme - MyspaceTraffic (user above) knows. It will definitely help you out though. Did anybody refer you do AFF ? This is to benefit both of us.

That'll be an affiliate link to your broker account on AFF, right? Pretty much what I thought was going to be the case.
However, you are apparently offering to assist people on how to market AFF and so far they seem happy.

Hey there. Read your thread and very interested. I have been evaluating setting up adultfriendfinder but havent moved ahead with it yet. I was evaluating other affilaites too like itunes and amazon etc. I have no problems signing up through your affiliate link. We all gotta make our money and I think your smart in doing so this way :)
I don't exactly have a myspace site , rather a hi5.com site. Same thing so I think it should still work.
The site is www.hi5alive.com (primarily all organic traffic) With about 700 uniques at the moment and growing. Avg age is between 17 and 24 and primarily males.

Okay, I wanted to come and post here to let everyone know what my past experience has been.
I was doing GREAT with them. The best affiliate program I was with, yet. Very happy, and would recommend anyone.
Until last night. Just before they go to send out my check, they decide they want to convert me from per click, to percentage - meaning I lost ALL that money I had made previously.
I told them that I wanted the money I had previously earned or I would take the proper action to make sure everyone was aware of what they were trying to do - and yeah, they are ignoring me...
So in other words - STAY AWAY.

I had the same problem with them, However I am now glad that I was converted. I was at about $2,000 for the pay period when they told me I would be switched, Which made my earnings for the pay period drop to $800. With a $1,200 difference you can imagine I was pretty pissed. However I bit my tongue and kept on going. After 30-60 days I started to get recurring memberships, and I now earn more than I did on PPC. So you might not want to bail just yet, They offer an awesome service that will keep your members coming back month after month. I earn 65% revenue share on average. I use a script which replaces their images with my own, Made conversions MUCH better. Anyway good luck with that.

Probably a lot of visitors. The vast majority of myspace users want layouts and stuff. They dont want porn and 'adult friends'. If you are spamming male myspace users with porn ads maybe you will have a higher conversion rate (not recommended) than sticking AFF ads on your MSRS.

Okay I have to chime in here and give some insight from my experience with misterproline and his aff ideas:
1 - Firstly, after playing tag on AIM for a few days we hooked up and chatted. He is a cool guy, was very helpful and pretty much spelled it out for me in detail in about 5 minutes. VERY helpful
2 - His strategy was pretty simple and I honestly was feeling stupid for not thinking of it myself
3 - I was reluctant to put any aff links (even with pg pics) on my main site because of fears that adsense would be hurt so I deviated slightly from his plan.
4 - Despite what someone has claimed, in MY experience, aff is paying me way more than adsense on most of my sites. Adsense earnings from my myspace site are so pathetically low (.05 click????) that anything would be better. I have some sites where adsense is earning very high epc but the traffic isn't that great.
5 - I can honestly say that if I decide to put the aff links on my main sites and keep my adsense in there, I would do much better than I am. And so far I'm pleased with my earnings.
6 - Like some, at first I thought, why should I sign up under his affiliate link when I already have one. But ya know what? Who cares? It's not taking money out of my pocket and he DID give me the info for free. I could have just as easily stiffed him but decided not to based on his help.
7 - I'll be interested to see if they switch me over but I think I'm doing okay with my earnings.
8 - Lastly, I absolutely do NOT know misterproline personally, have never met him and other than our one chat have not spoken to him since so this is only to give my experience on this. That said, if you see this dude, pm me, I need to take this to the next level and if you have any tips I'd appreciate it.

That may be true but nobody is clicking on my adsense links on my MS site. Maybe that's my fault I don't know but my experience so far has been totally opposite yours.
Adsense pays bupkis on myspace stuff. My highest ctr this month on my MS site is a ridiculous 0.94% and ecpm is .47
Conversely, my main blog has a ctr of 15.72% and ecpm of $13.28
My main biz site gets ctr of 28.12% with ecpm of $78.20
Unfortunately, the traffic on those is not enough to make me rich.
At any rate, my experience if comparing adsense from a myspace site with aff is that aff blows adsense away

Hello all! I'm new here and was invited to chime in on the percentage vs per click with AFF. To start with, my name is Sondra. I work as a Sr. Manger at AFF in the affiliate department.
1. 90% of our top paid affiliates are using the percentage program because it does ultimately pay more.
2. We pay out over 5 million dollars a month to affiliates.
3. We have been around for 10 years and have over 24 million member to convert your clicks to sales.

From your end, do you see any problems running AFF on sites that also have other networks that are a bit more leery with anything "adult" and often find suggestive images too much even? Adsense, YPN and ValueClick are a few different networks that come to mind with that?
I know your word wouldn't be official but I am sure you deal with many people running multiple networks and may know if anyone has had any issues...

March 15th, 2007, 07:09 AM
Good question! AFF has content filters and links that will allow users to turn the settings to PG rated pics. Additionally, we have landing pages that can be set to PG results with an option for the use to consent to seeing more adult content.
As for Adsense (my fav, BTW) and Value Click, I have not experience any conflict with my affiliates; however YPN "might" have a problem with a competitor of Yahoo Personals.
Keep the questions coming!

Um porn doesnt sell that well. Even for pay sites the conversion ratio is very very low. remember that these sites have alot of young viewers under the age of 18. You think they would be interested in finding adult friends..nah they would rather have layouts and myspace firends. And it makes your site look smutty.

I have to agree.
I put AFF PG ads in my prime spot instead of adsense for 1 day.It lost me $100+ on what I would have earned with AS.I made more with Tagworld.

That's entirely possible, myspace has MANY demographics... the most important aspect of maximizing revenue is truely knowing who your audience is. If it's more female than male AFF wouldn't do well. I was actually amazed to find out what my audience looked like after I put up one of primus's picture cubes, because a lot of people upload pictures of themselves.

I beg to differ of pr0n not selling. I have fiends in the industry and they make a cool 1.5mil on a 2000 user base a year soo... myspace is not just the scene kids playground you see here and there but alot of porn stars, fetish/bondage and shops utilize it for advertising. not only them but the people they market to the average individual from the age of 18 to 100. theres the demographics. everyones done it, see a flash hot pic and your curious to click it.
ffblueocean
March 15th, 2007, 02:42 PM
I agree with both points. If you have a website that is geared towards a younger crowd, pron is maybe not the best way to go.
At AFF we pay out over 5 million a MONTH to our affiliates. There are people advertising and converting good traffic.
I problem I see with most sites is they don't think to ask the affiliate program for suggestions. Example:
http://www.adultfriendfinder.com/go/g833240-pct is the standard link when you sign up; however changing this link to the top landing page for this month to http://www.adultfriendfinder.com/go/g833240-pct?ip=auto&override=1 will convert 3 times better!
If you have an AFF program, contact us to help you optimize today!

I was asked with a private message about our CPMs. Since I just joined this list/thread today, I'm not able to reponse with only a few post. That being said, ...
What's AFF CPM ratio look like?
With good traffic, we convert 30 uniques to 1 standard membership. This usually converts to paid memberships within the first 3 weeks, and stick around from 3 to 4 months.
I would have to look at each website to be less generic.

Call me crazy, but those landing pages look exactly the same when you click on them.

Received some questions on PG content and the nudity, so I will post some comments here.
If you are using Google AdSense, you are permitted to use AFF banners with the PG setting. You would not be able to display both the nudity and the contextual banners with AdSense at the same time.

Read this thread and just want to sign off on it. Been a Internet Marketer since 1996. There is no way I would waste my time and traffic on BS pay per click, thats not marketing. You make pennys, and if you are doing good on it, man you could be doing so much better. Adsense has never made me rich and I have it on thousands of blogs. Affiliate marketing can make you reall money.
While I have not tried any of the dating affiliates yet on MS, I use them all on my blogs. The best revenue comes from the nasty ads! Webchat, porn, etc. The PG ads do very little in returns. But MS is a different audiance, so I will admit, it may do ok here, but I do have doubts. If I do try this on MS, I will try at least R rated ads.
btw, great forum!

Budwiser - I think your spot on with what you say - I've made some good money online - Adsense the way I do it does not provide a good return - not for me anyway. it blows. You need to move up the food chain if and when possible. I am still trying to figure what will convert with Myspace traffic.... AFF has been far and away better than anything else I have tried. I did come here to this forum to ty and work my way through it all... Today I am considering the shift to AFF ads away from adsense - I think they are paying $75 a sign up right now. That is pretty good.

Trust me when I say that of all the offers I have on various sites, AFF has converted the best for me. I realize it's all a numbers (traffic) game but come on, how many dorks are out there that will click in a "Zwinky"? And some of this other stuff I've been trying to convert on the various affiliate sites: It's garbage? I mean, I know there's people out there that will click on anything but does anyone actually sign up for some of this junk?

Actually MikeB, a good converting site will have about 30 unique clicks to one standard membership. So..yes, people not only click, but they stay long enough to set up a profile!
Contacting an affiliate manager to look at your website content and design a landing page and banner for your surfers is the best why to convert!
Anyone interested in making some profit on AFF? Ping me for optimization!

Responded to PM, and I'm still offer assistance to anyone that has an AFF account, or people that want to start. I work at Adult Friend Finder (AFF), and have 8 years experience working with affiliate programs.
We test our landing pages monthly, and the search landing page is converting the best (the gallery page is a close second). This is an average, and some sites will always convert differently based on their website's target.
Quick example:
http://adultfriendfinder.com/go/g833240
-- PLS DON'T USE THIS! THERE ARE BETTER OPTIONS!
This is a common link within text and banners in the affiliate resource center that affiliates use. It does work; however you could do much better.

Great tips? The more this thread forms, we are able to see trending with how MySpacePro traffic converts. Rotating 50/50 banners that feature women then one that features men targeting women is a great way to capture both genders traffic. Got more room? Place a geo member banners both for men and women!

Yes, AFF has been around for ten years. The database has grown to over 2o million members 100% real members with the database being purged of older inactive database traffic frequently. With the recent use of MySpace content providers, we have found more and more women are signing up. It's a great opportunity to capture some revenue with images with men and women to convert.

Good question! Common results attract common conversions. Targeting traffic to each website's surfers will convert better. The current default is a great generic option to cover all bases/websites. No need to change the current default.

I must agree with an earlier post where the guy mention that he's been marketing for 8 years and he wouldn't use his traffic for ads that pay little. There is soo much to made from the traffic that I too changed from those ads and now making $X,XXX bi-weekly. Never thought I'd be able to quite my job. Not to trash this thread but dont put all your eggs in one basket. Test everything before you settle.
Once I get more post I'll be sure to inquire about the tips as I have a few myspace trick of my own.

I think Adult Friend Finder sucks for myspace traffic. How many Myspace people do you think are going to go for a paid subscription to this site? I signed up with AFF because everyone said it converts well and on the AFF site they boast "Earn up to $1 per click!" This is total BS... During the first couple of weeks, I sent like 70 male free sign ups and 10 female free sign ups and my account was up to around $120 but it's in their terms that if you don't get 1 paid subscription for every 25 free sign ups, they will convert your account to the shared plan. So they converted my account and now my balance shot down to $14 retroactively. So I wasted almost a month promoting their site and now they are not even going to pay me what my account said I earned???
This is a bunch of smoke and mirrors if you ask me. I now earn a whopping .05 per male sign up and .10 per female sign up. Not a bad cost per acquisition for them...
Is my myspace traffic any different than everyone else's myspace traffic?
I say stay away from AFF. They totally screwed me. Plus, their site kinda sucks anyway. "Get laid in you town tonight!" .... give me a break!!

"Get laid in you town tonight!" .... give me a break!!If they make money, you make money. Pretty fair in the end. And you even said it, it's in their terms to convert accounts. They do that to protect their own interest and that is understandable. If they are going to pay so much per lead then they should be able to expect quality leads ;).
Besides, the percentage program can be HUGE if you can get enough traffic. there is nothing better than passive recurring income.
As for myspace traffic, I think a certain percentage is open to it. The average user on myspace is now older and does have money and looking for that type of entertainment. AFF isn't the biggest because of just advertising, it's a popular type of entertainment.
It's all a number game. The more you can send the more that good leads get filtered through and the more you make. It may not be the perfect plan for a myspace site but it can do well with enough traffic.

i agree is is a waste of my time, first u send them traffic then you get stuck with nothing, there site was having problems making my sites slow while i was blaming my server.
they have to ads " Mett people from (city name)" funny i live in NY went to NJ very far like 200 miles or more the same picture same person in another town, i traveled to the Caribbean and i get the same pics with the name of the country i was in.
I know that is geo target or something and advertisement but please rotate the pics more.
good luck those that are doing good with it. (Y)
