hey all,

I was wondering if you wouldn't mind taking a look at this local classifieds site I am building. It's been a little tricky modifying this script because the scripter apparently doesn't believe in css at all, so I had to go in and make css + give class names and stuff and I still have a ways to go.

but anyways, please tell me how you like the look of the site and also maybe the forum I have setup. Your welcome to post fake experiment ads.

I just added a navigation bar to the top which I really liked before I plopped it on the site and decided it doesn't match and is too big(in height). But I'll wait and see what everyone else thinks about it before making a new one.
Perhaps I should make a simpler one that can scroll all the way across the screen?

anyways, please review. I'm hopeing to have this thing ready to go in a few more weeks.

Are you going to have local options where someone can just look for stuff in a particular city?

I like it, but I would make the colors more neutral like Craigslist.org's colors. Not so like, WOAH. Ya diggggggggggggggggggggggg?

hey Geg2 thanks for the reply.

The site is basicly just a local classifieds site for Yavapai County Arizona only, so it's not like a major craigslist type site where you can browse by cities and states.

but there is around 10 - 12 cities/towns here in Yavapai County, but it's a pretty close knitt county. But there is a search function where users can pick one of the cities in yavapai county to search for ads.

I'm with Eric about the colors. Blue is nice, but something more neutral would make a better fit.

I like everything but your logo image. i think it needs to look a bit more smooth without all the strokes, drop shadows and everything.. pm me if you want me to make one for you.

Hey John,
thanks for checking it out and the logo offer. You are right I need to change that a bit. I guess my normal style of graphics will not work with this type of site :) I'm thinking that this is a job for Adobe Illustrator.


Thanks for the review, Design Team. The top add space will be broken into the 3 smaller box type ads, I just have that big bar at the top as a space holder for now.


Jess, I think I will be messing with the colors in the future to try a more neutral approach. The pokemon cards, for you, free!!

i also suggest you make it more into a logo, like something unique like pYzam has with a little man as the Y.

The organisation looks really good, and so does the logo. I'm with the others on the color scheme, that it should probably be toned down a bit, but other than that it looks pretty great!
