Hey all,
I have been somewhat MIA on here for a bit lately so hi to everyone!
I wanted to ask all of you what you think a fair and good price for some links that I am looking to sell on my site.
My site has been growing with each day and right now has gotten a bit over 10k visits a day. So far this month I have had 117510 Unique visitors.
On my site seen here http://www.geefx.com/ look to the right where as of now it says Resources then there is 6 links. I plan to change that to partners and sell 6 links. Seems like prime real estate to me.
I have to say I have purchased links in the past and some just really seem way to high. So I want to make sure I start this out right so I can continue to advertise and have happy people with me.
So please everyone let me know your thoughts.
Thanks,
Scott

You might make more money with affiliate links, (azoogle etc), or an adbrite / adsense block.
If you were selling links, I'd value them at $30-40 a week, especially if the links would open in a new window, and 70-80 a week if there opening in the same window. Because they'd be getting a good portion of that 10k visitors per day.

Hmmm had not thought about affiliate links. Have you had good experiences with that?

www.azoogle.com
Zwinky's are popular on a myspace site, and on 10k with ringtone affiliate links, zwinkys, etc you could be pulling in an extra 20-30 a day.
If I was you I'd mix it up with link selling and affiliate links.

I would go with what the others said and use azoogle.
By the way, that is a very nice design you have:)

I would like to hear some other opinions about selling links and what you think there cost should be if any of you has an opinion?

I think $30 - $40 a week is a good amount for a 10k per day site. For a text link in a menu position. With a limited amount of links maximum.
Yours aren't in the menu though, granted they are above it, but not as clickable as within the menu, so I think maybe closer to the $30 mark per week. If they were in the menu, say third/fourth section down, I'd imagine closer to $40 a week. If way down the bottom more like $25 a week.
I think you should limit to a maximum of 8 - 10, being sold if you're going to list them in the menu. That will keep them from being flooded and they'd hold greater value.
It would be good to get some other peoples opinions, if they have different figures in mind to what I and someone else has suggested, so we can work out an average. Not only for skipper, but information as a guide for everyone if they were to sell links.

So I have just seen that my site now has a PR4. Do you all think this should give you more advertising possibilities or just base it on the traffic?

Personally I'd base it on traffic, although that's always good to add. I think people are generally buying links for the traffic as opposed to a page rank boost.

Yeah I would have to agree with you DavidR. I know if I buy a link for this kind of site I am more worried about the amount of traffic.

Hey skipper I remember a while back you posted a screenshot of how you wanted your site to look. Well it looks like you found somebody to code it for ya. Nice!
This is one of the coolest MSRS designs I have seen. Very unique.

Hey man thanks. Yeah I have a buddy that usually does this stuff along with me. He made the static files for me then I just had to integrate it.
Thanks again!
