sites to new to charge for posting in marketplace
am i right????
i hardly visit this site now.
i do understand the idea though, to stop the 30 threads per sale........
maybe give a credit to post a certain number of threads per week
or charge for extras such as
bold.....
highlight
sticky
etc....
come on greg this is a better idea.....
your also the master script writer.....
should take you what a few hours to make the proper mods?
people of this forum am i right?

The point of making the fee for the marketplace was to try to keep not only scammers, but poor-quality sellers, etc out of the marketplace.
If you are selling a quality product, $5 is NOTHING and can be made back+more in 1 or 2 sales. Now if you aren't selling a quality product, you will waste $5 and will try harder next time to make a more quality product.
Its not that much and I'm quite pleased with how its going. We had 20+ random glitter threads from different people who were throwing around the word "quality", even though the glitters may not have been very high in quality. Now go count the number of glitter threads and see how organized the marketplace is now.
I doubt Greg will change it, because he sees how great the payment method is working.

i understand the multiable threads deal

To begin with, i didnt know what it would be like, but now, i give my full support. The quality coming from the marketplace is much higher. And like Selena said, any quality product should easily make back the $5.

$5 really isnt anything. Selling my contact tables pack earned me 3 threads worth in one sale. You shouldn't be needing to post THAT many sales threads, unless you are selling a super large amount of products, which you could simply offer all in one thread if you have that many things to sell.
And its not so much that people were posting too many threads, it was that they were SO many people posting low-quality products or just not practicing good selling habits. And many of the glitter threads were posted by kids who thought they could make a quick buck and weren't contributing anything to the rest of the forum.

I actually like how you have to pay for a thread because I agree, quality is good over at the market place right now & it's easier to browse without having to go through 100 threads just to find one with REAL quality products.
However, I'd also have to say, that it is kind of a loss for me simply because I do not have paypal & as much as I would like to make a sales thread for my graphics, I cannot because I have no way for paying for my own thread. (I don't have paypal because I am from the Philippines).
But despite that, I like how it is right now, & I probably won't change a thing about how it works. :)

I think it's better as it isn't as swamped with a lot of products.
I haven't lost anything from the $5 as I have sold my package.

What rule or Book says its to new ????
Who makes this rule ???
Who wrote that book ??
TripleX if you dont wanna fork over the 5 little bucks you yourself have no faith in what you sell. If thats the case.......ummmmmmm you can go elsewhere to sell the stuff you have no faith in.
Dont mean to be so blunt but thats just the way I am.
Mine is just my opinion though...

Comparing this site to xxxxpoint is way off.....TripleX you have a TARGETTED group here.
And actually Traffic has grown and we weeded out all the BS forsale threads.
I guess you can go and open a board and have your rules and then you will see what we face on a daily bacis.
I appreciate your suggestion as far as the colored text ect.....but NOTHING will change the pay to post in the Marketplace Forum.
By doing it your way we still have the BS forsale threads and Scammers and it fixes nothing.

You're an idiot.
You didn't in so many words say you wouldn't pay $5 but you did say:
but i think $5 per thread is a lil steap....
Which pretty much is you moaning. Stop being so pedantic.
People don't just visit for the Marketplace, we're here for far more than just that. So stop your rambling about traffic to this forum dropping. The only people that no longer visit are people who want to sell junk - and that is who we wanted to get rid of. Job done.
For someone who is back logged with orders, you should have $5 floating about somewhere, stop being so tight. If you have faith just pay up and sell - if not, don't. I won't be buying from you because you have displayed the symptoms of a moron in this topic.
what i was saying is there are different ways of making money from posting
The point wasn't to make money, so it is you who has missed the point. So don't give us 'holy ****', because that's what we're all thinking at you.
Oh and as for your claims that this forum is too new to charge for a service, all I can do is laugh. If a new website, such as one like Amazon came on the scene tomorrow, would it have to give all it's stuff away for free, simply because it is new?
My God.
PS: Learn to spell the word too, to and two (your also) and construct sentences correctly.

Is it a grammar/spelling error does he/she mean Too new?
I couldn't work out what the thread meant from the title, then spoke it out loud as
"Site's too new to charge for posting in MarketPlace"
Meaning, the site is too new for charging in the market place,
How old is this site anyway? =/

I wasn't having a go at you, calm down, I spelt grammer wrong in the thread and had to google it to correct it grammar (I knew something wasn't right :P)
I was asking, like cos I couldn't work out what you meant from the title, if you meant this site, as I don't know much about the MarketPlace.
I wanted to work out what was being said, so as to make sure I got it right, I posted before agreeing with comments about charging for posting if you sell...as in quality terms it is a good idea ;)

The word is grammar.
So you are happy to look like the poorly educated buffoon that you are?
No, you are the one being stupid, all over $5. You have 2 options, pay and sell or don't pay and don't sell. There's absolutely no more possible discussion on it, those really are the only options you have. So wander off somewhere and work it into your budget somehow, being the idiot you clearly are you'll need a calculator for such a mind boggling math problem.
Edit: Charging only if you get a sale defeats the point. The charge isn't there to make a profit. It was the idea of us - the users - not the owner. The charge is there to put off idiot sellers, scammers. If the charge doesn't come until they have made a sale, then what is the point? They've already scammed someone, so there may as well not be a charge at all.

1) You do need to have a reasonably high standard of spelling and grammar, as you sell content and stuff, and you need to spell and punctuate when making glitters for PAYING customers, they wont accept something saying "Welcome two my page" now, will they? =/
2) And, you really need to improve your Public Relations skills, if you hope to/expect to make any decent money (or even a living) online.
You wont attract customers or visitors to sites by saying "Kiss My ***" to people!
I for one, will not purchase products and/or services, from someone with that sort of attitude
