View Full Version : Is MSRS + Adsense worth it?

Assuming you don't have a YPN account, and you prefer to monetize your site using Adsense, is MSRS worth it?
Let's crunch some numbers:
The average Adsense click on MSRS (in my experience) is 2-3 cents. Pitiful, yes.
Therefore, to make your $300 back, you need to get about 10,000 clicks.
Assuming you get the average CTR of MSRS sites (which is about 5%), you'll need 200,000 impressions.
If you get 4 impressions per unique, you will need 50,000 uniques BEFORE you profit.
That's assuming you get these uniques freely.
What if you pay about 5 cents per visitor through Y!, Adsense, LookSmart, or MSN?
You'll pay $2,500 for those 50,000 uniques, but then you'll be $2,500 in the hole!
So, the question is this - do you think buying a MSRS script and monetizing Adsense is worth it?
Apparently not. However, I am expecting this response from certain people: Don't monetize solely with Adsense.
If that is going to be your response, what do you suggest someone should monetize their site with?

Well I guess once you get past the stage of making your money back, these sites would work ok...
But with any business your need money to start, and you need to spend money to make money.

In my opinion, it would be worth more if myspace clicks were more than 2-3 cents per click, but since they are only 2-3 cents per click, unless you can get LOADS of traffic to your site, and get all those clicks, it won't be worth it until your getting a good amount of traffic to your site.
Its cheaper and wiser to make your own site, with your own unique content, but hey, if you can't do that, then what the heck, MSRS is the next best way to do it.

Getting enough traffic to use CPM banners, selling direct text links, and getting CPA offers to convert will make you more money in the long run than relying on AdSense.

I guess it all boils down to what you make of it Twan......If you have that outlook then I wouldnt expect you to go anywhere.
As said before it takes money to make money. Even if you break even for the 1st year your doing GREAT.
In the real business world your company pretty much takes a loss for the 1st 3 years.
People need to remember this ISNT A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME.

PGZ, if you're looking to invest alot, you shouldn't put it into the MSRS scene

guys its new years.
and i have had my money back and more in three months statrting from scratch.
and its not only the 300$ i have spend a lot of money on ads and content as well.
its all about traffic. this is just a script.
and i am guessing a good percentage of msrs owners are making low xxx or atleast high xx $ daily. (profits after expenses)
i am very excited about my sites and am doing a lot of planning and work on my sites
have already bought a second licence

I just can't wait til greg finally logs on and sends me the files :)
I'm actually excited about seeing what the greatness is all about. I hope to customize it to my liking and add my own pizazz to it, which i think is a big part of doing well with it, making it different from the other MSRS sites out there.

The thing why myspace sites are popular is becuase getting traffic to them is very very easy, you can acquire 1000/uniques a day pretty much with not much SEO and marketing skills at all.
With niche sites that pay high per click like $1.50 getting even 50 visitors to your site a day is very hard.
