How do I make smooth/photograph effect?

I am trying to do it in photoshop but it comes out weird.

Explain 'cus smooth/photograph effect means anything.

A simple way is to create a new layer, then blur the top layer (gaussian blur) then u set the blend/layer mode to overlay/tint or something. It's fast, and might give u what u want... But then again, Who knows cus you didn't tell us.
