Changing Host

I am changing my host to a VPS and need to know ......will my site be down at all.I am in the process of copying my site over there and when done will just point my domain at it.Can I expect any downtime for my site during this?
If so what is solution (if any)

If you have everything setup correctly, there shouldn't be any downtime.

just upload the site to your new server and then change the DNS.
i have done this twice with msrs and it was moved without any downtime.

just make sure you have uploaded everything correctly.
doing it twice with skip option second time is a must.

Thanks money_train.I am checking things as I go along.Luckily most of my traffic is US based so here in the UK when my day starts the site is at it's quietest.Thats when I'll go for it.
