Hey. Ive been creating some glitters for my site lately. Main reason ive been creating them myself is for the experience, i can be sure they are unique, and while my site is new and not 100% finished, i dont want to go spending too much on custom made designs.

So tell me...from your experience as a resource site owner...are these glitters of a decent standard, which will attract users to use my resources?

This is the style ive found which i think looks good. I began using a plain noise filter on everything, which at the time i thought looked good, but when i saw some of the work from other designers (such as selena) i absolutely hated mine, and so, developed a new style.

Thanks.
Dan.

I'd say those are nice. and definitely "up to scratch"
the more creative fonts, colors and letter arrangements you use, the better the glitter comes out.

also, a good text effect program is called "artistic effects"
its a plugin for psp and ps.
there's a feature called "aqua" on there and it makes for some great text effect. I'd recommend it, i use it for pretty much every one of my glitters.

Those are pretty good, just try using a wider range of fonts. Also, maybe decrease line height because there are big gaps between lines of words, if you get me?

Experimenting a lot helps :)

That makes me feel old.....

I remember using Alien Skin's first products. And then KPT. Man, KPT3 was like the best thing since sliced bread. Kai Krouse is a genius. I'm pretty sure you're all too young to remember him though.

Danago, those look like a great start. Not sure if you are making them just for your site or to eventualy try to sell as well but if you plan to market some of them, consider trying to find something new or different to do with them. There are so many glitter designers here already so the more unique, while still looking great, the better odds you will have selling a bunch. If you are just making them for your own site then it still applies since the more unique they are the more reason people have to go to your site to get them ;).

And blastup, if I see your URL in one more of your post where it shouldn't be I'm going to get pissed. I have been catching up on my forum reading and every single post I have seen of yours has your URL. This is not the place to spam your site. Most people seeing these post are site owners who don't need your site so unless it is directly related to the topic, keep your URL to yourself. Or at the very least add it to your sig. Thanks in advance ;).

They're very nice, definitely "up to scratch".

I particularly like the first one. :)

Thanks for the replies :)

Just downloaded heaps of new fonts from dafont.com. They got a really nice selection there, with great organization :)

Oh. And is my tagging to obvious? Should i make it smaller, and blend it in more?

as far as tagging goes....i'd download a pixel font and make it black with a white stroke.
then put it on the graphic so that it cuts into the graphic ever so slightly. The point of tagging is not only for viral marketing, but also to prevent theft, and someone could easily steal those glitters by simply erasing the tag in animation shop.

The glitters are VERY good for a beginner.
You have a long way to go to get to number 1 in the glitter world lol, but it's a good start well done :D *pats on back*

Just noticed Selena beat me to it, with the below comments :P
-------------------------
I don't like the Watermarks much though, Maybe download a pixel font like "Tiny" and make it real small, so it's just visible and put it in the corner, yours are too big and far away from the graphic, easy to remove :P
Just my tip, well done though, seriously :)

Ive changed the way i tag them now.

Is that tagging better?
