Hello Everyone,

First I would like to thank you for helping make MySpacePros.com such a success. In the short amount of time we have been a community we have grown at a phenomenal rate. Sometimes several hundred posts in a single day and we owe it all to you!

As many of you already know, I am the author of the very popular myspace resource script known as MSRS. In preparation of releasing MSRS 2 we are releasing a companion script that will complement any myspace resource site, not just MSRS based sites. We aren't going to release any details at the moment, but if you follow us at BuildRevenues.com you will know to expect a great product with support that is second to none.

MySpacePros.com is going to hold a contest for one week where the winner will receive one free license of this new as-yet-to-be-announced valued at $97. Those of you who are already our customer will know that we never lower the price of our products, and those of you who are not already our customer, well, now you do :)

Contest Guidelines:
We will be tracking referrals for the next week and the 2 people with the most referrals (and possibly the top 3 if enough people participate) will receive the prize(s).

Contest Rules:

The person(s) with the most referrals will win.
Your referrals must complete 3 posts to qualify.
Your referrals posts must not be spam.
Your referrals must come from different IPs and not come from proxy servers.

How to enter:
You will find a link here in your UserCP (http://www.myspacepros.com/forum/usercp.php). When people sign up to the site using that link you will get a referral. It's that simple.

There is always one person with a lot of referrals in this type of contest which is why we are going for the top 2, possibly 3 people. So if you only have 5 or 6 referrals, you're still in the running. In this type of contest the top 10 referrers are always within 1 or 2 of each other so every last referral counts. Tell your friends, put a link in your sig, whatever it takes. If you make money from myspace traffic you're going to want this product, and what better way to get it than for free!

Again, thank you for your awesome contributions making this place the #1 site for myspace webmasters. We are really looking forward to furthering our community and we hope you are too!

Update:
This page will show only referrals that count for this contest. Any referrals registered on this page are for people with 3 or more posts who have been referred since the contest began.

Yes, you can offer incentives to people to sign up. Just don't promise them anything from myspacepros :)

my prediction....we are going to have a ton "new members" who never make more than 5 or 6 post.:balloon:. Many of the post from the new people I have look like they are from a paid forum posting service. I guess the most we can hope for is some of those actually see the value and enjoy the forums and become "real" members.

I agree I see ALOT of WORTHLESS posts being made already just so they make the qualification.

Despite being in the lead, I have no problems with voiding any referrals that are worthless. In fact, last person I reffered is obviously an idiot.

Fortunately, I see at least a couple of them that look intelligent and plan to stick around.

One of our developers went to Canada for the holidays so I'll be extending this competition for about two more weeks as we won't have time to properly test the new product and delivery system while he's out of the country.

This gives you all a couple more weeks to get your referrals in, so start referring!

I don't know if considered spam, but a huge percentage of the referrals I have seen so far have only really posted in the off topic type topics. Not much relating directly to myspace sites and such.

Although it may still help it kind of takes away from the focus of this contest. Sure, I tried the "incentive" approach and failed miserably lol but before this contest I had 25 referrals. I even won a previous referral contest (though never got my prize lol ;)). But personally, I try to get people here to make it a better place. Many of the referrals that have been coming since this contest don't help at all and only make it worse, in my opinion. This contest has turned into an incentive to refer anyone even if not interested.

How about for future referral type contest we do it on the best quality referrals. Maybe something where a group of new users are nominated for the best, most contributing post and then voted by the community on who has been the most helpful new member. Then that member wins something along with the person that referred them. At least that way the new users will try to post useful, contributing content even if bogus "paid refs".

I'm not opposed to doing that at the end of this contest at all Scilynt. People know why I put up the contest. They know my intentions and the intended outcome of getting new people. If the winner(s) are found to have simply tried to work the system, they'll be disqualified.

I don't want to pad the forums, I want myspacepros to grow with great members.
