Wow, who owns this site? It looks like a MSRS script on steroids! They have some of the coolest generators I've ever seen.
The url is http://www.modmyprofile.com
Just WoW, anyone?

That definatly isn't MSRS, it just has a similar colour scheme. It's run by someone called Scot. It is a very nice site, the original creator of the World Map, many celebrity profiles use it, big celebs too.
Good generators, not much content but what he has been adding (custom content wise) recently has been quite good.

You really don't think this is built up from a MSRS script, there are a lot of simalarities in design elements.

Speaking of Scottycc..
Do any of you use a landing page ..like what he does vs ..the straight to the INDEX..or our home pages?
I now when I tried it ..I got huge results ..but no vistiors ..to the main site. It made me a bit nervous but I am considering going back to it.
As far as the look ..I see it is similar to mscms I now I have a couple of thoses sites..people love the feel but the CTR and google ..about broke me. Sorry who owns the template (mscms) but GREG'S MSRS STUFF CONVERTS A LOT better.

Scotty deserves all the success he gets, he's a brilliant designer, coder and all round good guy.
I've always wondered if his landing page was against google's TOS though, since it has no content...

Yeh I was about to ponder that too. It almost certainly is, as you said there's no content.
The only similarity to MSRS is the multi colours.

I've always liked modmyprofile and really like the newest design. Yeah, the colors give it a MSRS look but it's not. He is one of the few site owners who actually code their own generators and some of them have paid off big time (like the map generator). I think he should have sold copies of that generator once the copy cats started popping up but he held off even though he could have cashed on that.
You can see other sites who use his for inspiration and it's easy to understand why, it looks and works great.
I personally have more respect for scottycc than any of the owners of the huge sites out there because scottycc has built up on his own work, while the others have mostly gotten where they are from great ranking in google. So, props to scottycc :).
as for the landing page, it probably just barely gets by with the "content" rule.

anyone can make a site like that, all it is is packed content nicely placed on the page. I would love to make a scratch website and still have a script for the content. if there was a good way there would be way more websites designed like this. but yeah looks pretty cool..

Hey thanks for all the support everyone! =) Glad you dig my site.
Even though this thread is an oldie, I figured it would be best to reply since this is my first time seeing it. I noticed many of you were curious about if my site uses a CMS, it does but its one I coded myself.
thx again for all the comments, sorry it took so long to see this!

hey scottycc,
Did you confirm with google the landing page was alright?
I ask because it's an excellent idea, but i'd be a bit leery myself since it appears to be playing around in a gray area.
Anyway I was just curious, it's a genius idea though props to you!

Sorry to say, but that landing page breaks googles TOS because it indicates that the ads are sponsors.

Any indication of sponsors are allowed.
May not place misleading labels above Google ad units - for instance, ads may be labeled "Sponsored Links" but not "Favorite Sites"
I was referring to the landing page having no content :)

Saying sponsored links is different to saying that they are your sponsors

Isn't that the same thing, if they are not funding your site why would they be there??

Your site looks great. :) I love the design, its simple, navigational, and just.. not overdone. :) So, great job with it, and goodluck in the future.
You have some great generators. StashBox looks like a good idea :)
