I noticed that it was almost 30 bucks to transfer a domain including VAT ( tax). I also noticed a lot of the UK providers charge a support phone fee. Or something real close to it. Is this the same all over the world?

Just curious because next time “I” complain about a $6.99 transfer fee with godaddy I will make sure to do it quietly. LOL

Anyway.. I am curious to see what you all pay in these types of fees. This should help anyone who buys domain or sites from another country. I find a lot of great stuff in the UK when it comes to electronics in general. By the way the DNS transfer appears to take a bit so be prepared. 

Transferring a UK domain name is a pain - £35 transfer fee ($70) to Nominet, the governing body for .co.uk plus whatever admin fee may be required.

Some UK domain name registrars decided to add an administration fee to domain transfers as well ... of any extension. The amount is pretty much arbitrary. They can charge what they like. Y'know, like £50 ($100) per name. Grrrr.
