I have had a bunch of hosts in the past and i have only been very happy with one, but she doesn't host anymore... well, she does but it's a long story. I'm not even sure how to contact her..

Anyway, i've tried hostgator i think it is called, i didn't have any problems there, but then again i didn't stay hosted with them for very long. My choice, nothing wrong with them.

My current host is driving me crazy. They have currently switched their servers and how my whole damn package has changed so i am only limited to creating 15 accounts? -I have a reseller. What the hell? I am seriously thinking about selling my slightly developed websites and the content i have for them and calling it quits with websites. They are such a pain in the neck. I didn't have these many damn problems when i was still hosted with freewebs when i first discovered websites and the internet.

Who do these people think they are? I read about Tiara's problems with Hastyhost, who i was also hosted with before. I didn't have problems with them, i had just sold my site and didn't get a new account with them. Thank god for that since he stole her money!

These companies just think they can take our money and change our accounts and packages right from under us. When did we turn off the free will button on our lives?

--There is no longer a vent place and i thought putting it here would be best.
I just want to know your imput on current/past hosting companies and problems you have had with them changing your package/stealing your money.

Do some research, look around at hosts that people have used and recommend and go with them.

Make sure you purchase the type of hosting that's right for you so you don't have to change again.

Ohgod. Me too.
My forum has swapped hosts five times. And all the servers go up then down all the time. It's so messed up. If you don't need much space, i suggest sopasa.net. They NEVER go down and are pretty cheap. ^_^

Don't expect reliable hosting if you pay 2 dollars a month for a hosting package.

These hosting companies still want to make money, and that's why they're over populating servers, cutting down on staff, etc etc..

Well i pay $10 p/m now. I have unmetered bandwith and space. My site isn't really up so i haven't used any space/bandwith yet. I just don't want to get my site all together and files added and whatnot and have to switch hosts shortly after. Ugh this is so crazy.

The vast majority of hosts are resellers and a vast majority of those resellers are completely clueless when it comes to running a hosting business.

When looking for a host:
- Make sure they own their own equipment.
- Research them on webhostingtalk.com.
- Be wary of hosts offering a ton of features for just a few $$$.

If you do go with a reseller make sure they are reliable by researching them through Google, whois info, hosting forums, etc...

I have used siteground for years.

Their service is great (usually reply to a ticket within 3-8 minutes) and I go through about 50gb bandwidth a month and everything runs fine.

As a reseller you only pay about $50 US for each account with pretty much unlimited disk space and bandwidth.

I have had minor problems but they have given their full effort and attention to correct these problems!

I host about 20 accounts with them, 7 of my own and 13 of my clients and I have never had any complaints :)

I have a reseller account at http://host-it-planet.com/reseller-ind.htm.
Ive used them for about a year so far and the only problem Ive had is maybe once or twice a month, I guess the servers are down for about an hour or so, nothing too major to hurt my sites. I can host as many sites as I want. I paid like $165 back then , but it looks like they dropped their prices to $149. The owners are always online (yahoo IM) if you need support, there always available to anwser my questions or when I need help. I was referred to them by a friend here and thats how I heard of them. On a scale of 1 to 10, I'd give them a 9...

I say a 9 because a few times I would be in the middle of editing/updating my site and the servers are down for some reason and i have to wait about an hour before I can continue what I was doing.
