Not one of those "OMFG *PISSED OFF* Vents." Just something that has been bugging/annoying me.

So Monday i go to the dentist to get my teeth filled or w/e since i have cavities. =X
I'm kind of scared since i've never had a cavity in my life so i've never really had my teeth "worked on".

So i asked my mom why the heck i would have cavities now and crap.
I brush, i floss, i don't really eat candy or anything. What am i doing wrong?

Then my mom told me that she heard something about being on the pill takes calcium out of your teeth or something?

And i don't drink milk really, once in a green moon lol.
Could that be why?

I'm afraid of getting them filled since i have sinus really badly and it's heard for me to breath out of my nose and i don't want to be numb in my mouth and choke on w/e solution is in my mouth.

And the scary thing... the past two days i've choked on 1) nothing, i was just in the car talking and i started choking. 2) on water last night.

X_X ah.

It's cool, my sister works at a dental office and I've had approx. 5 fillings done :)
There's grinding, If you're like me you'll shake like a mofo cus I'm scared of dentist offices regardless of everything...

The worst operations are root canals... Everything else is cool, You'll be numb too so you shouldn't feel a thing :) DUNT WORRY, BE HAPPY.

Seriously.. I was even a geaunie pig for a certain procedure that involved taking a part of my tooth out and filling in a ceramic piece that a machne carved. They like, dug out my entire tooth.. Took me like 3 hours cus they had never done it before and the lady even poured stuff into my eye that could of blinded me :-x overall, it was decent. Be nice to the nurses and they'll be nice back ;D

Have your fillings ever come out?
I'm afraid of that happening.
What does it feel like after they are filled?

Um it takes a couple days to get used to, and no fillings don't normally just come out, If you do porcelain they will last 50years-lifetime, but if you're getting the standard metal old school ones then you're looking at like, 10 years i think?
Also with metal it can actually dye your teeth, Like I had a filling removed because it was turning my tooth into a metallic colour, it scared me to death.

Porcelains expensive but if its covered by your insurance do that instead of whatever it is that metal they put into your tooth. The metals also have natural chemicals that are harmful to your body.

I'm a talking ad, Sorry. Don't be scared though, nothing bad happens.
You will be numb but you will be allowed to eat food after the operation but you shouldn't cus you'll probably be too numb and it will feel weird. A couple years ago I had to go to a friends birthday party right after I had my fills done and I had rootbeer pouring out of the right side of my mouth and I didn't even realize it til everyone was laughin at me.

:D

fillings normally dont come out, i had one that i remembered having filled back in junior high that did come out last year so it was in there a good 15+ years but that one always felt funny to me after having it done like it wasn't in right even years later.

yes certain birth control pills can take calcium out of your body. if you don't drink milk i would suggest a calcium supplement of some kind

Just try calcium pills, you can get them anywhere.
Milk = chemicals that are dangerous (if non organic), contains alot of fat, and it came from a cow.

Its been proven milk doesn't help with calcium whatsoever. Recently, actually, but some are still under the misconception that it does! Milk is 99.9% useless to us actually. We're the only mammal out there who drinks milk into adulthood.

Anyway, lots of things can cause cavities, especially pop and mal-nourishment. The pill may drop calcium, but milk aint gonna help you there!

If you want calcium from milk then you'll need to get soymilk which is WAY better for you on too many levels.

It tastes good, It has low fat, It comes in many flavors, Has lots of vitamins, Organic, Doesn't come from a cow's nipples.

Yeah. I got 10 needles in the mouth before. When they took a saw and tried to hack out my wisdom teeth. Did you know, you cant feel a needle going in your mouth?

I didn't even notice, and I'm a crybaby when it comes to that sorta crap

Yeah.. but getting my lip pierced hurt a HELL OF A LOT MORE especially with the cockeyed guy who stabbed my chin and missed the dot the first time and made it crooked the 2nd time.

I hate my mouth :)

FOR DENTAL ADVICE YOU CAN PM ME. All I gotta do is ask my sis, she's practically a dentist :D

Melissa

when getting a filling they just numb your gums, you feel a prick but honestly scraping your leg hurts a hell of a lot more.

Yeah, the needles totally freak me out. Just don't look at the needle beforehand. I accidently saw the needle before my surgery in '04 & I almost didn't go through with it. I'm a baby, I know. But I've had so many teeth pulled, so yeah. The needles don't really hurt though, so the fillings should be easy. And calcium suppliments are the best way to go. I should start taking mine. ><

Good luck,
Stephanie Lynn

December 5th, 2007, 04:26 PM
I thought it's bad to get lots of teeth out at once? Messes up your gums, jaw or something? lol.

But yeah, You don't even see the needle- or barley feel it.

sweet2685
December 5th, 2007, 07:05 PM
Because, my baby teeth never fell out & my dentist was a moron and didn't pull em sooner. I don't know if it's bad to pull that many in one day, but my teeth were already so messed up anyway. :(

Why the hell did you get 9 pulled in a day?
