Hello~ In looking at my daughters myspace, there is a 'friend' I would like to block from sending bulletins to my daughter. When I 'block' her, does the friend know that I have blocked her? I don't want to delete her, but I'm not happy with what she is posting on her bulletins...
Thanks

yes that friend will know if she is blocked.

i suggest that you leave her alone though. who cares what she posts? she is your daughter's friend and whatever it is, it's probably acceptable in today's society. it's like shielding kids from alcohol or drugs... nothing will stop them if they really want it.

BTW, i am 17 and if my parents tried to do something silly like that, I would be very unhappy.

honestly, i'm 15, and although some of my friends post stupid stuff, its up to your daughter whether she will read it or not. she'll find a way to get around it, because i'm sure she'll notice if she tries to go on their myspace and she can't leave them a comment or something.
whatever she's posting, your daughter either
a. doesnt care
b. will find out on her own somewhere else if not from her friend
c. already knows whats in the bulletins and simply ignores them
or d. will yell at you and unblock her once she finds out you went on her myspace account.

i see stupid bulletins all the time, and well, i know whats a stupid bulletin and whats not, so i just dont open them, its up to your daughter.

Alternatively, when you read a bulletin from this 'friend' you will see an option to 'remove from friends' - use it. No-one will be any the wiser ... at least for a while and maybe not at all, depending on how much communication their is between them. Deny all and any knowledge. If asked blame it on a glitch on myspace. ;)

How old is your daughter? Myspace isn't intended for very young audiences.

In a way I agree. If what you don't want her to see is really that bad, she's probably too young to even be on myspace.
The youngest age is what 13?
By 13, if not younger, most kids have come across a popup with porn in it, seen their friends smoke or drink, and pretty much seen it all on television while surfing the channels.

If she's younger than 13 she shouldnt have a myspace and you should probably just take her off anyway.

Your daughters "friend" who is sending bulletins has probly had his account hi-jacked and people are sending bulletins like....

"live sex in your area now" style bulletins over and over...

He probly does not even know he is sending this stuff, your daughter may be friends with the boy...and if you just go on and delete him she may get angry lol..

I think you should talk it over with her before destroying her account...

I think bulletins shoud be banned to people under 16 as some of the content in these get quite messy once another person under 16's account has been hijacked by spammers pstong cam bulletins or xxx stuff...
