Says Badder Adder.
This is the excerpt from their hot sheet -
Avoid URL Spamming!
If MySpace sees a bunch of comments or bulletins with your URL in it, they will
sometimes block that URL from appearing anywhere on MySpace. Then you won't
be able to tell MySpace friends about your homepage. We recommend that rather
then send your URL in comments & bulletins, you direct people to your MySpace
profile page where you then put your link to your homepage. Or, you can use a
redirect service – you can Google that term for more info if you're interested.
Can anyone tell me what would it mean?
All the myspace resource sites give their backlinks with their content. So what is badder adder trying to convey?

i think what they mean is, if your leaving bulletins and such with your url saying "visit this site" or anything that isnt just a part of the code, myspace will flag it as being spam.
There is a huge difference between a code that someone leaves in a comment like this:
<a href="www.siteurl.com"><img src="commentgraphic.gif"></a> <a href="www.siteurl.com">I got this graphic from: site</a>
and then theres the obvious advertisement
Oh my god, this site gave me some awesome free ringtones
<a href="siteurl.com">CLICK HERE TO GET THEM!!</a>
i think, if im getting the right message, thats what they mean.

They give backlinks with content...not through spam... MySpace may not like that, but they know resource sites play a big role in MySpace, as users like to customise their pages, so I am guessing they see it as 'one of those things' (though I expect they think of ways to get rid off it constantly!)
Spamming your site in a comment or message or bulletin is not the same as someone using your stuff and a button appearing on their page. One is displaying the creater credit. The other is spamming.

if this were true.
the biggest sites would be blocked first.
user using big sites must have millions of back links from myspace.
I dont think we can buy those many comments and bulletins.
i read a lot about google not likeing bulletin traffic but myspace not allowing this.
this will be hard for them to code.
how to distinguish between geniun user comments and others.
need some more light on this issue.

Since it isnt posible for bulletins to be indexed, it has no affect on google rankings.

This discussion has gone nowhere. What money_train says is right.
If just giving links can get u banned, then all ms resource sites get banned.
So what is Badder warning abt?

^^have you not paid attention.
this thread has explained that badder adder is warning against "SPAMMING LINKS" which means not when a graphic links back to a site, its when a site is advertised through spam messages, bulletins, and comments, saying "visit this site"
Badder Adder is generally used to leave mass comments/messages spamming to go to a site.
now if people were smart, they'd use a tactic like commenting with a glitter that says "happy tuesday" or something and links to the site they're trying to advertise.
