compared to plesk, whm/cpanel is the gods gift.

Personally I prefer using shell, should give it a try sometime, its the most flexible and feature filled server admin tool out there!

so far I have to agree. I love my whm/cpanel on my other host and so far not doing well at all with plesk. Greg mentioned it was more powerful once you got to know it so I blame my lack of knowledge. Still hate it regardless lol.

To put it bluntly its a piece of sheeeeet.

Any tool that makes me work harder is not a tool.

The migration capabilities are poor, at least with WHM/cpanel I can migrate easily (and from memory it can even migrate from plesk)

The backup tool absolutely sucks, it places the backup in a location that you can only get to via plesk, unless you have a shell thats not in a chroot jail, and I don't have one. You can't remote backup either, which is just plain stupid.

I can't use a text based web browser on a server because plesk doesn't support it, so I have to transfer over a gig to my workstation and then back to the new server (and I'm on a very ****ty connection)

plesk is all sizzle and no steak.

If I'm wrong on any of these I'd love to know, but I doubt I am - at least for the server I'm trying to get the data off.

I absolutely love Plesk over CPanel, but then again my experiences with CPanel have always been less than pleasing whereas my Plesk experiences have always been great.

I can give you access to one of my servers that you can use to move files if you want Drew, just give me a shout.
