I recently sold a product on ebay. The buyer sent me the payment via instant payment to paypal which means i will not recieve the payment until i email them the reciept or tracking code. I need the shipping payment so i can ship the item out as soon as possible. I do not have the money to ship the item as it costs $75 ups to nigeria upon buyer request. I have no way to get that much money in a quick amount of time. I have emailed paypal to see what they think should be done.

Do you think they would be able to send the payment for the shipping and item back to the customer so they can send it to me the right way?

I got an email saying the payment has been deducted from the buyer's account and is practically in "LIMBO" or thin air until i ship the item and provide the tracking number.

This is really pissing me off as i don't have the money to ship the item in my pocket. Duh. That is why there is a shipping charge with ebay payments.

So if i do end up getting the money to pay for the shipping costs and ship the item, what happens if i am not given a tracking code? And even if i am and email it to paypal, how long will it take to recieve the payment?

Don't do it yet!!! I was scammed by someone telling me to send the ebay item to nigeria and then give them the tracking code, the very next day I got an email from ebay telling me the member I had done a sale with was now suspended with suspicious activity or something, and I almost posted it too :/ Then I checked my paypal account and there was no payment pending from them, even though I had got one of those "Notification of Payment Pending" from Paypal, which means they forged that Paypal email :/
I think it's too much of a coincidence that this person wants it sent to Nigeria as well and is asking for the tracking code, but I could be wrong... just letting you know what happened to me so it doesn't happen to you! :P

Do a search, you will find more stories of the same techniche being used to scam people.
Check the ebay Forum.

Wow. I emailed paypal last night about it and i am going to call them in just a minute to see if they can either credit my account with the money or send it back to the customer. Either way, until someone has the money, i'm not sending anything.

I called paypal and it was a scam. Thank god i didn't have the money to ship the item. You know Ammy i am really glad you posted because that is what made me call paypal and ask about it. Otherwise, i probably would have waited until i had to money and then shipped it and then i would have really been f*cked. So i'm grateful that you saw the thread and posted. I want to thank you all for helping me out i truely appreciate it from the bottom of my heart.
