View Full Version : How many hits a day are you getting on shared?

I recently downgraded since my dedicated was a bit much. I currently get around 6,000 hits a day and run find. How many can a general shared server take a day and be alright?

Hosting images in Photobucket is your best bet, it can save you ALOT of bandwidth and space.

Yeah, to be honest, its kinda stupid not to host them there. I don't plan on getting huge, I just really like doing graphics. PB will help you out bigtime =x Just uh... No porn on them.

If youre all wondering why I dont post sales threads or show my stuff often, its because I'm worried about the copyin kvillers (not all, just most) -_- with no sense of originality or style :\


How can a bunch of 10 year olds have originality or style? lol.

Your site would probably be fine on a shared server with that amount of traffic, just depends what percentage of your images and other files are hosted remotely. Seriously, $20 for a photobucket premium account is totally worth it - unmetered bandwidth, if you're using up excessive b/w they ask you to put a banner up, a very worthwhile investment and it'll save you SO much in hosting costs.

just what i was gonna say jordan :P

yeah, $20 is totally worth it, and you can even get it cheaper. Like the $9 for 3 months plan for example. The only problem with hosting them on server is if your site suddenly gets "big", you have all those files to transfer and recoding the pages,etc. which can be a pain in the butt :P

I had one site that had 8k visitors a day all images hosted on site on a shared server and had no problems. I think it also depends on who you are hosting with I have seen some people post that their shared host shut them down around 8k UV a day and I have seen others say they have been pushing 15k UV a day for months.
